Checking In

Happy New Year everyone! I hope you enjoyed your holidays. Here, in the house of Kelly, things are finally settling down to our particular, however unusual, brand of normal. I know I fell off the radar there for a while. I had a few issues with my health and a couple of stays in the hospital. My husband also had some health issues this past year that culminated in open heart surgery a few days before Christmas. He is now the proud owner of a new and improved artificial heart valve. Between the two of us we have cornered the market on doctors for a while and are both looking forward to a healthier year. I’ve decided to take a page out of Oprah’s book and make 2016 the year of my best body. Which coincides with a couple of trips my daughter and I are planning for this year. The first of many, I hope.

So now that I’m healthier and my husband is regaining his independence, I have returned to writing. Oh my, how I missed it! Kate and Hollywood are a blast to write about. I’ve never written two characters so resistant to feeling what they’re feeling. Afraid to admit that they desperately want and need what they’ve found in one another. And all the while hiding everything from their friends. It’s challenging but fun. My goal is to finish and publish no later than mid March – a birthday present to myself as I hit the big (deep breath here) 50. I’ll post the first chapter in the next few days to give you a taste of what’s to come. I can’t wait to hear what you all think. You’re in for a few surprises with Kate and Hollywood for neither is what they seem on the surface. Each is hiding a painful past that they must work hard to overcome. I hope you enjoy their journey. I’ll continue to keep you posted. Giving you little tidbits along the way. I’ll also share information about some of my upcoming projects. I’ve got a few ideas for stand alones as well as a couple of new series.

Again, Happy New Year everyone. I hope your year is filled with health and happiness and love. Happy reading!

Glad to hear that your husband has recovered well from his heart problem and that you have also recovered from your health issues. Sounds as if you are ready for those trips you have planned.

Really looking forward to reading the first chapter of Katherine’s Fire, and reading about their issues, also looking forward to hearing about the stand alone books that you are considering writing.

Hope all goes well in the future for you and your family.

  2. I’m happy to hear that you and your husband are doing well. I’ve love reading your books and looking forward to reading your next and final book in this series. I’m about to read your book Double Take, and have read your book One Heart~Two Souls twice. You are an amazing author. I was hoping to see you at the Austin Book signing in March 2016. But in light of what I just read I’m sure you want be able to make that. Stay well and I’m looking forward to the last book. You and your family are in my prayers. — Debora
