My next project will be Katharine’s Fire, the fifth and final book in the Choosing Love series. If you remember, we met Katharine briefly in book one, Bronwyn’s Stand. Kate was the arson investigator in charge of investigating the fire that destroyed Bronwyn’s first bookstore, Another Story. She’s strong, smart, and beautiful. Just the perfect kind of woman to give Hollywood a run for his money.

After that, I’ve got a couple of ideas for a few stand alone books. Then…? Maybe a new series. I like getting to spend time with an extended group of characters. I like the challenge of weaving their lives together. I’ve always liked reading books in series.Who would have thought writing them could be just as fun?

  1. I have enjoyed your (kindle) books immensely. I am wondering about the editing process. Do you use friends? A professional? Errors seem are
quite rare, especially when compared to similarly priced books on amazon. Would you want to hear from a reader about words that are spelled or used incorrectly? If so, what would be the best way for a reader to let you know?

    • Hi Kelly,

I’m glad you’ve been enjoying my books. You had really good questions about my editing process. I tried using friends in the beginning, but they just got caught up in the stories and didn’t even notice the mistakes. Flattering but not exactly helpful. This early in my writing career, I can’t really afford a professional proofreader. That leaves me. I read and reread my books more times than I care to admit, trying to catch every mistake possible. I probably go through each book atleast 10 times before I publish. Unfortunately, because I’m human and a writer not a proofreader, mistakes still get through. To date, I think I’ve only made one critical error (I mixed up two characters!). A reader emailed me and I corrected the error and uploaded a corrected file to Smashwords. That’s the beauty of publishing ebooks. I look forward to the point in my career when I can turn proofreading and publishing over to someone else.

      • For what it’s worth, I am willing to proofread. My mother’s love of correct grammar and my own love of reading, and words in general, have proven helpful in the past. I just finished Anna’s Strength for the third or fourth time. As I was reading for the story, and not looking for errors, the only misuse I recall is at the beginning of Chapter 5 when Anna and Daniel greet each other. “In difference to the day’s schedule…” should be “In deference…” So if you’d like another set of eyes, I’d be happy to help.

      • A reader emailed you about a character mix-up… Would you want minor errors brought to your attention? If so, how would you want to receive that information?

      • Ms. Kelly, I have read both Bronwyn’s Stand and Anna’s Choice and can’t wait for the next book. While they are cleaner than many self-published works I have read, there are still a number of errors that I noticed. I have worked as a professional proofreader for a publishing company and they just jump out at me. If you will contact me privately, I would like to send you a proposal for services that I am sure you will find within your reach. These stories are too good to leave with errors.

  2. Hi,
I have enjoyed reading all of your books and am excited to hear that the next one is not too far away!!! Bring on December!!! I check iBooks regularly for any of your work and then tend to get so caught up in reading them that they last me two days max… If only you could write them as quickly lol… Anyway I just wanted to let you know that I am a huge fan and love your work!!!

    • Thanks Mel! I love hearing from readers. I,too, wish I could write faster. I can’t seem to keep up with the number of ideas in my head. LOL. Maybe some day, when I don’t have to share my time with my day job.

  3. Wow I love the your books, just wish I didn’t have to wait for book 3 so long… When I tell you I could not put them down … I really couldn’t! Great job it’s really nice to read a book with so much heart & soul!

  4. Hello,
I have thoroughly enjoyed your books and am looking forward to your next one. I had also wanted to ask about proof reading and to volunteer to help with that should you need it. Thanks for the great reads!

  5. Dear Ms. Kelly,
I can’t believe you have a ‘day job’ and you are/were still able to write these books, so far. You’re amazing.
As I mentioned to you previously, I am a proofreader and would be more than happy to help you out with your books that haven’t been printed yet, at no charge to you. As Kelly wrote on 8/25, that was but one error but the others. I’m so taken with your books and the characters, that I just want to see them perfect.

  6. I am SO happy you decided to finish Choosing Love first. I may have pulled my hair out if I had to wait that long. So I say Thank you!!!!!

  7. Yay!!! I’m looking forward to the last two books of the Choosing Love series. Thanks for listening to you fans and deciding to finish up the series before working on other books. You are such a talented writer. I really get into the books and feel along with the characters.

    THANKS!!! 😀

  8. I just bought Jacqueline’s desire and cant wait to start reading it. I am re-reading Bronwyn’s Stand and Anna’s Strength first! 🙂 Do you have any updates on possible release dates for the next 2 books in the series??

    Love love love these books!!

    • So glad you like the series! The goal is for Sophia’s Courage to be finished by the end of the year. I’ll keep everyone posted on my progress. If I stay on track, then Katharine’s Fire should be ready some time in 2014. Then…? Working on a new series idea.

  9. I have read all your books. I love them all. I have recommended them to friends who loved them as well. Like everyone else, I am waiting for the last two in the Choose Love Series. I would also like to see stories for Sean and Ethan Gable from One Heart, Two Souls as well as Keith Bennett from Double Take. You may not have planned to develop these characters for their own books but as an avid reader, I see the potential for some great new books with your writing skills.

  10. Have so enjoyed all your books, couldn’t put them down and have in fact read them again and again, would love to know when you are publishing Sophie’s Choice, also whether you have any plans on follow ups of rest of Choosing Love series and follow up on One Heart two Souls and Double Take.

  11. any news on the release of ‘Sophie’s Courage’? Also will there be any follow up on Double Take and One Heart, Two Souls.

  12. Hi Mrs. Kelly, I have enjoyed your books so much. I have reread them over and over. When is Sophia’s Courage coming out?

  13. I only found your books in the last 6 weeks….ohh my!….I am addicted! I have read them straight through…all of them! Your style of writing is both romantic and sensual and yet..in Double take…I never saw the final twist coming…simply brilliant!! I was sorry to read here you have had some health issues and wish you fully well soon. I digress, I read here that Sophia’s Courage will hopefully be realised in February? hope that means February just past so that it may be available very soon??? I cant wait to read the next instalment of a wonderful piece of writing. Please know that one reader this side of the pond is most grateful.

  14. Hello, I hope this email finds you feeling healthy and happy. I loved reading all your books and am really looking forward to Caveman’s and Hollywood’s stories. I’m sure that the end of the school year is a busy time for your “day job” as a school teacher, but hopefully you will have time and health for more writing over the summer holidays. Your best day/worst day book sounds really intriguing, plus I was happy to hear that you had a start of an idea for a new series. Wishing you and yours all the best.

  15. Hi Mrs. Kelly, I hope all is well with you and your family. I am glad that your health has improved. I was just wondering if there was any update on Sophia’s Courage?

  16. So pleased to hear that you are now back to full health and writing again. What is the latest news on the release of Caveman’s story! Am so looking forward to reading it, also will there be a story about Hollywood.in the future.

  17. Hi Ms. Kelly,
Sorry I haven’t been in touch earlier and hope you remember me. I too have been
‘out of it’ from Oct 2014-Sep 2014 in/out of hospitals & rehabs due to 2 botched hip surgeries and am now getting ‘back to everything’
Just want to know if you have a release date for Katherine’s Fire, the last of the Choosing Love Series. FYI, the offer of free proofreading is still on the table.

  18. Is it possible for you to give us a date when the last book in the series, Katherine’s Fire, will be published please, am really looking forward to reading it.

  19. Please can you tell me if Katherine’s Fire is going to be released any time . I really hope so because I love this series and would really like this final book.

  20. I love your books and am in process of re reading them. I was wondering when the final one will be released
. I need to know what happens to Hollywood.

  21. I want to say that I really have enjoyed reading all of the books in the Choosing Love Series . I wanted to see if there would be any way that you could continue the Choosing Love Series . I think it would be interesting to see what happens after they are all married . Maybe there could be something come up that would call for all of the new and old members of the team to work together to stop an event from happening or maybe there could be something that might happen as they plan out the weddings that would cause for all of them to work together ?
